I happened to get a new camera, a Fujifilm X100T, right before the flooding in Houston on April 18, 2016. I had an opportunity to head out after the storms and see how the community held up. The number of people out and about on the trails after the storm was inspiring, with families, bikers, runners, and pet owners all coming out to assess the situation and swap war stories.
We were fortunate; none of the bayous near our home breached, and flooding in our neighborhood was minimal. Others weren't so fortunate, with a live rescue of a waterlogged drive occurring in this area just hours prior.
I'm still learning the in's and out's of this camera, and I'm looking forward to taking it to New Orleans for some real street photography moments later this week.
